The basic approach in this Thematic Group is the belief that education and health are both an inalienable human right and essential contributors to the economic prosperity of society, so strategies and policies as well as mechanisms to deliver good quality, affordable healthcare and education to communities rank high in the activities of this Group. Understanding diseases and taking preventative and risk-minimization measures in community-based contexts constitute the approach in health matters. A comprehensive, lifelong and multigenerational approach to learning to maximize communities’ potential for sustainable development forms the operational philosophy in education interventions.Activities in this Thematic Group are consistent with SDGs3, 4 and 6
